REUTERS NEWS STORY!!

DC5 Win Rightful Place in Rock Hall!

The Dave Clark Five were inducted as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees on March 10, 2008, along with John Mellencamp, The Ventures, Leonard Cohen and Madonna.

A panel of 600 industry figures selected the five acts to be inducted at the annual ceremony. Tom Hanks gave a passionate introduction to his favorite band, decribing their positive impact on the psyche of young teens during otherwise difficult years. Then Lenny, Rick and Dave each spoke graciously and thankfully about their wonderful run.

"The 2008 inductees are trailblazers _ all unique and influential in their genres," Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President and CEO Joel Peresman said in a statement. "From poetry to pop, these five acts demonstrate the rich diversity of rock and roll itself."
